Pastor Philip A. Harper ThD.

Pastor Harper has been the pastor of First Calvary Baptist Church since January 2019, only a few months following the retirement of Pastor Mark D. Boyd in August 2018.  
 
Pastor Harper attended Ambassador Baptist College from 2001-2005 where he earned a BBS.  He continued his education with Andersonville Theological Seminary where he received his earned ThD.
 
He has conducted Vacation Bible Schools in the states and in Trinidad.  He has served in various camp ministries in the states and in 2 other countries.  He has served as a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.  He has served in 3 different youth groups and was youth pastor for 2 years.  He served at Elk Valley Christian School in Elkview, WV for 2 years as a 6th grade teacher and Principal.  
 
He has been married to Jennifer since 1999.  They have one daughter, Emma.
 
Pastor Harper preaches topical, textual and expository messages.  He has a personal and ecclesiastical desire to reach the lost by way of personal evangelism, supporting evangelists, U.S. missionaries, and missionaries on various foreign fields.  He believes all aspects of the Christian life can be benefited by principles found in the Word of God.
